Salt Pond Bird Sanctuary
Salt Pond is located just off the Shining Sea Bikeway and is flanked by Elm Road, Mill Road and Surf Drive. The 41 acre parcel was originally owned by Mass Audubon and was transferred to Salt Pond Areas Bird Sanctuaries in 1962 under the guidance of Ermine Lovell. The property has wonderful nature trails. Maps are located in two kiosks on the trails just off the bike path.
Shining Sea Bike Path
Located less than a mile from the Inn. The Bikeway extends 10.7 miles, from County Road in North Falmouth to the Steamship Authority’s Ferry terminal in Woods Hole, a historic seaside fishing village and the site of several major research institutions. It also connects at a number of points to the network of designated Bike Routes across Falmouth. The Bikeway traverses salt marshes, cranberry bogs, ponds and woodlands; it skirts sandy shores and a busy working harbor. Its course includes numerous intriguing geological features. It is also the only bikeway on Cape Cod that has a section along the seashore.
Take a leisurely walk in this beautiful six acre Cape cod woodland garden located on Oyster pond in Falmouth, MA. This magnificent site is open to visitor’s year around. Spring brings thousands of daffodils, followed by azaleas, rhododendrons and then daylilies.

Woods Hole Science Aquarium
A small public aquarium that displays approximately 140 species of marine animals found in Northeast and Middle-Atlantic U.S. waters. The aquarium features an outdoor seal pool, 20 tanks and 15 aquaria with fish and invertebrates, two touch tanks where children can gently touch marine animals, and a behind-the-scenes area where visitors can talk to the staff as they go about their daily tasks of caring for the animals.
